Making it Happen Now is particularly focused on tackling the needs of ‘NEETs’ – those Not in Education, Employment or Training.
In the most recent official unemployment statistics one of the key challenges faced in the UK is youth unemployment as the number of 18 to 24 year olds out of work increased by 48,000 to 993,000, 40% of total unemployment.
Making It Happen Now has worked with youth organizations like Connexions and Jobshop, Barclays and O2 designing motivational programs specifically targeted at young people, as they recognize that they are the most valuable tool we can have in building a better future for the benefit of all.
Our programs focus on teaching leadership skills to young adults involving them in decision making processes taking into account their perspective and also to help the participants develop skills, tools and self belief which will enable them to express themselves in forums outside of their own peer group.
MiHN works with a broad spectrum of young adults ranging from people who:
- Have left school
- Are in training or employment
- Have graduated from University
- Are unemployed
- Want to be youth leaders
- Are in school and training institutions
- Are disenfranchised or young offenders
- Have special needs due to disabilities
- Are in low income groups
